Launch of the webpage for the ECB’s Survey of Professional Forecasters
The European Central Bank (ECB) is today launching a webpage dedicated to the results of the ECB's Survey of Professional Forecasters (SPF).
Since 1999 the ECB has conducted this quarterly survey among forecast experts from both financial and non-financial institutions based in the European Union. The SPF focuses on expectations for HICP inflation, real GDP growth and the unemployment rate in the euro area. The results of each survey are reported in the ECB's Monthly Bulletin.
The complete set of historical aggregate SPF results is now available on the SPF webpage (http://www.ecb.europa.eu/stats/spf). The webpage will be updated with the latest survey results each quarter, on the same day as the ECB publishes its Monthly Bulletin.
An ECB Occasional Paper entitled "An introduction to the ECB's Survey of Professional Forecasters", which describes the survey and presents the expectations collected so far, can also be found on the webpage in pdf format. Hard copies of this Occasional Paper can be requested from the ECB's Press and Information Division (see contact details below).
