The European Central Bank is hosting a workshop entitled “SMEs’ access to finance: the role of financial and non-financial intermediaries and capital markets” in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) on 11 December 2014.
The main objective of the workshop is to provide a forum for central bankers, market participants and researchers in the field of economics and finance to discuss the most recent developments in access to finance of small and medium-sized companies.
We would welcome papers on the following topics in particular:
- The role of banks in financing SMEs
- The role of non-bank intermediaries in financing SMEs
- SMEs’ access to capital markets
- Other market initiatives (including securitisation)
- The role of government and other public institutions
The scope of the workshop is not limited to the topics listed above, and submissions on other areas related to SMEs’ access to finance (e.g. credit insurance and crowdfunding) are also strongly encouraged, provided they have potential implications for monetary policy analysis.
Papers should be sent by e-mail as PDF files to Michaela.Petakova@ecb.int and Baiba.Zile@ecb.int by 16 October 2014.
