Supplementary Guidance Notes concerning statistics on the holders of money market fund shares/units
The European Central Bank has today published the Supplementary Guidance Notes on the collection and compilation of statistics on the holders of money market fund shares/units.
Regulation ECB/2002/8 of 21 November 2002 amending Regulation ECB/2001/13 provides for the collection of monthly statistics on the holders of money market fund (MMF) shares/units broken down by the residency of the holder and enters into force on 1 May 2003. The aim of this Regulation is to further enhance the quality of the data that are used in the calculation of the monetary aggregate M3.
The Supplementary Guidance Notes provide a range of explanations and examples in respect of this requirement. They supplement the "Guidance Notes to the Regulation ECB/2001/13 on the MFI balance sheet statistics" published in November 2002.
This publication is available on the ECB's website.
